INQUIRERS DAUGHTERS DEAD-HEAT FOR WIN IN $25,000 TROT

MEADOW LANDS, PA, Nov. 6, 2008 Im Justa Lady and Toms OK Lady, each a daughter of Inquirer and each a top distaff trotter at The Meadows for the past several years, were inseparable Thursday as they dead-heated for win in the $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Trot.

Im Justa Lady shot to the front for Tony Hall, with Toms OK Lady and Dave Palone sitting snugly in the pocket. When the outside flow proved ineffective, the ladies dueled through the stretch, with Toms Okay Lady using the Lightning Lane to catch but not pass her rival. Whybabywhy finished third in the 1:56 mile.

Bill Daumit trains Im Justa Lady for Janet Collins and Patricia Daumit. Ron Burke conditions Toms OK Lady for Sylvia Burke, Bethann Palone, M1 Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. The two mares have combined for 35 victories over the past two seasons.

In the $18,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred Trot, Motherland was too much on the front end, going wire to wire for trainer/driver Marty Wollam in 1:55.4, equaling her career best. Wizard Springs and Penn Tag rounded out the ticket. Steiner Stock Farm and Acadia Farms own Motherland, a 4-year-old daughter of Andover Hall-US Victory.
