MEADOW LANDS, PA, Nov. 3, 2008 Martys Charm chased on the outside for more than 1/2 mile but still closed in 27.3 to capture the $25,000 Preferred pace Monday at The Meadows.
Martys Charm was sitting third before the half when Randy Tharps sent him after the leader, Hennessy Hanover. The 4-year-old gelded son of Aces N Sevens-Bets Mae finally subdued Hennessy Hanover in deep stretch, downing that rival by 3/4 lengths in 1:51.4. Tarver Hanover was a close-up third.
Martys Charm now has won 10 of his 21 career starts for trainer Paul Corey and owners Martha and Gerald Baluck.
Dave Palone drove six winners on the 15-race card.
